What kind of fucked rank is this? how can u never fired a weapon in anger can be military expert meh? I would say the uneducated illiterate taleban fighter pick up an AK-47 and ambush western troops is more of a military expert than these yobos. SAF cannot change the name ah? When people bluff u and tell you how powerful your army is, and u believe it, that's went u can invent all these military titles. I don't think even experienced professional armies like the US army or the IDF got a rank called military expert. If someone in the US army were to have a rank called military expert 4, other soldiers will laugh at him when he introduce himself.




SINGAPORE: Forty-one servicemen were appointed as Military Experts 4 (ME4) in the Singapore Armed Forces in a ceremony on Friday.

The cohort included 19 Military Experts from the Air Force, 12 from the Navy and six from the Army.

The ceremony marked the completion of the Military Domain Experts course and the graduation of its pioneer batch.

Training conducted during the course allowed the Military Experts to deepen their military domain knowledge, hone specialisation skills, develop leadership competency and critical thinking.

Officiating at the inaugural ceremony, Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen said the Military Domain Experts Scheme (MDES) is not just a career path but a strategic capability.

The MDES is an enhancement to existing officers' and warrant officers' career schemes.

The MDES comprises an eight-rank structure - from ME1 to ME8.

The newly-appointed Senior Military Experts will go on to assume command or technical appointments in their professional areas.

slightly differ in my opinion. these military domain experts are seriously experts in theory, reciting military buzzwords, remembering military acronyms, and answering all questions on military doodads and trivia from all parts of the planet. they are trained for geography bee, spelling bee and the game of jeopardy. don't expect them to turn an ipad into a makeshift weapon when push comes to shove.

I have a better idea. Why don't the SAF have an agreement with the US Army to embed these clowns in a front line US fighting unit for not less than 2 tours in Iraq or Astan?. If they survive, than they are qualified for the rank military expert. If they come back in a box, than the SAF can cover up and say training accident.

BTW, what has happened to that other great personnel experiment, the NUSAF scheme?

Its called the DXO now. Defence Executive Officer, which is another confusing name akin to Military Expert. In the US armed forces, an XO (executive officer ) is the 2IC of his unit. But now, SAF counsellor, psychologists, accountants, lawyer, etcs are called DXOs even though they don't wear uniform and are for all intends and purposes civilian contractors.
