As Singapore grows in popularity with Chinese students, universities roll out Mandarin-taught programmes

Four autonomous universities – NTU, SMU, SUTD and SUSS – will launch new postgraduate programmes in Mandarin in the coming months.

Local born students cannot write well in Chinese. How about starting courses in Bahasa?

Are we throwing in PRs and Citizenships to foreigners who completes these mandarin post-grad programmes?

Hope the ranking of our universities drop.

Singapore is a place that foreigners can scold, humiliate and insult the locals.

If a foreigner is in Thailand or Indonesia, try doing it openly and the locals will not tolerate.

Only reason China students come is to improve their English.
I can only assume PAP has decided to target very capable engineers and scientist to create a research base. Otherwise lose out. Snatch these people out of China.

Because some of the best Profs in NUS and NTU are from China and easier to listen to them lecture in Chinese rather than English.

The rent seeking for housing PAP elites trying to prop up their property holdings ....

So when is NUS going to offer distance learning degrees?

This one will bring in loads of money. UoL has been doing it for more than 100 years liao.

Chinese Helicopter can finally put a Dr in front of the name liao
This Jiangsu guy had it himself since he says there are more dogs than humans in Sg. Orbiquack

Lots of grad courses at local universities are already flooded with PRC and CECA people.
