SINGAPORE: Former Temasek Holdings chairman S Dhanabalan has been appointed as a director of the GIC Board with immediate effect, GIC said on Friday (Aug 1).

Mr Dhanabalan had previously served on the organisation’s board from 1981 to 2005, GIC said. He was the Chairman of Temasek Holdings from 1996 to 2013, and was also previously the Chairman of Singapore Airlines and DBS Group.

Mr Lim Siong Guan, Group President of GIC, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mr Dhanabalan to the GIC Board. We will benefit from his wealth of experience in finance as we strive to invest well for present and future generations of Singaporeans.”
