... he dunno how to bribe the immigration officers. His only crime officially? His passport has less than 6 months before expiry. His unofficial crime : when Malaysian officials hint him to ask for money 'to buy ticket back to Sg', he blur blur say no money. Then Malaysian officials say, "Ok lor... wait inside here while we get your ticket..."

He say a few years ago, he was an inmate in a Sg prison for 1 year, but the 26 hours in the Malaysian prison was a thousand times more hellish an experience.

I think malaysian officer really meant it when they ask money to buy tickets home. Since the guy say no money, officer then lock him up while waiting for boss to approve budget for repatriation ticket.
Normally, for sinkies, they allow passport less than 6 month in but remind you to renew asap. This guy must be so horrid immigration officer says nope.

Usually the ICA check yr passport at exit that it is more than 6 months valid, and check your travel plan by asking you. If they see risk they tell you not to travel and go renew passport 1st.

ICA very busy these days...they don't bother if your ppt has six months to expiry....but if you are oppositions members, you can be sure they do a thorough check...
