(Cebu Daily News) – The Singapore Embassy is now accepting applications for the Singapore scholarship for school year 2011-2012.
This undergraduate scholarship awarded by the Singapore government is tenable at the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Management University.
Except for Medicine and Dentistry, all other courses are open to scholars.
Qualified applicants are allowed to take three to four year courses. They can also enjoy return airfare, full tuition fee coverage and a living allowance of Singapore $4,300 (approximately P142,000) per year.
Scholars will be selected based on academic merit, leadership qualities and their potential to contribute to the Philippines’ development.
They are expected to return to contribute to their home countries after graduation.
The scholarship underlines Singapore?s firm belief that human resource development is key to economic development, and that training and education is vital to success in this age of globalization.
Applicants must be Filipino citizens with excellent academic records and a good command of English. They must be in their first or second year college or graduating in high school.
Shortlisted nominees will take the entrance examinations set by Singapore universities.
Nominees will be further shortlisted based on the results of entrance examination and will be interviewed by the representatives of Singapore universities.
Application forms are available at the Singapore Embassy or may be downloaded from website www.mfa.gov.sg/scp.
