Robbers grab 7 trays of jewellery
PETALING JAYA: Robbers blocked the view of a shop in Taman Datuk Harun here with a cement lorry before holding up its staff at gun point and fleeing with RM300,000 worth of jewellery.
Four robbers entered the jewellery shop, while a fifth accomplice parked a cement lorry in front of the shop to mask their activities.
In the 12.30pm incident, the four assailants entered the shop wearing full-faced helmets.
One of the assailants brandished a gun at the employees of the shop.
"We were scared when the gun was pointed at us. We ran to another part of the premise which is separated from the main display room.
"We lost seven trays of gold, worth RM300,000," said an employee, who declined to be named.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamed, when contacted, confirmed the robbery.
