When three Indian businessmen opened the door of their second-floor shop in Little India yesterday, they were greeted by three men dressed in the blue of the Singapore Police Force.

But instead of being protected by these "cops", they were relieved of over $100,000 by the brazen police impersonators.

The Straits Times understands that it is very rare here for a crime to be committed by someone masquerading as a policeman.

The robbery occurred around 8.15am at 103, Dunlop Street in Little India.

Yah. The amount should be 1 million not 100,000. But I heard only recover 840,000.

The famous "mamak gang" in Mudlaysia always likes to impersonate police/customs officers when committing their robberies. I wonder if this is their sinkie chapter.

Interesting to note mamak also mostly ah nehs who seldom use firearms and violent methods....also always hit high value targets

This is another case of Ah Neh's way of calculating money. Just like when you go order Indian rojak.

The police must have asked, how much was robbed. The indian mumbled a few indian words to himself and then say 1 million.

Now only found $840,000!

It also means another thing, how the hell they managed to bring it into Singapore? Did they declare at immigration? Did ICA screw up again?

You might be correct thos damn shit skins probably Upped the amount and probably try to claim it somehow.

Why have so much cash lying around? Laundering?

They are merely re-enacting the actual situation but they just did it in person instead of using policies, laws & regulation! The uniform was merely symbolic!

I know for a fact any money changers will have a float of at least quarter of a million in cash, even a small hole in the wall type of setup will have this amounting on hand.
The one in the report probably had an appointment arranged with a regular customer thus cash was on standby.
Money changers used to be favorite targets for robbers....due to their comparatively lower 'risk'...recently the indo killed in OUB raffles place is money changer related....seems the trend is coming back.

so the keling victims trying to pull a fast one to con the insurance coy $160k lah.

mata uniforms and accessories can be brought from beach road market in the past, not sure if still the case. even uniform personnels also need to show warrant card so no warrant card = fake mata. Also must be an inside job to know the so much $$ in shop at that timing. One thing abt keling money changers, they like to carry huge amount of cash in those luggage trolley with only one or two other person accompanying to the bank.

Very interesting robbery..

These Kelings robbers must be watching some Tamil action movies as their source of inspiration to execute this heist..
