RM300,000 fireworks seized by Customs
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Customs seized RM300,000 worth of fireworks and firecrackers from a transport company in Penampang.
Department director Mohd Kassim Ismail said enforcement officers raided the transport firm’s Jalan Bunusan premises following a tip-off.
“Our team raided the premises at about 10am and found some of the firecrackers and fireworks inside a lorry.
“We then tracked down a lorry in Jalan Lintas R and upon inspection, found more firecrackers and fireworks,” he said.
Mohd Kassim said five people, including two truck drivers, had been detained to help in investigations.
