Prof Lim was born in Malacca, but educated in Singapore and his talents in economics was put to great use in Singapore. Had Prof Lim gone back to jiuhu, he was have been sidelined and his economics career put on hold indefinitely simply because he wasn't a muud moslem.

So there was a Possibility of him being offered a cabinet post in umno gomen but he rejected and joined pap public service instead just after race riots in KL.

There is zero possibility of Prof Lim being offered any cabinet position in finance, economics, defense and home affairs in jiuhu. Those portfolios have been reserved for muuds and moslems mostly. He'll be offered at most porfolios in tourism or transport or water resources.
