Some of my richer extended family members migrated to Australia and Italy and another one stays in JB as the kids study international schools there much better than Shitgapore MOE shitholes

In Malaysia, a PMET couple can buy a landed home and own 2 cars so they enjoy a Swiss Standard of Living while S'poreans only have the Swiss Cost of Living.

A mere 20% of S'poreans live in private homes and less than 10% own cars. Like it or not, these are the elite class in SG. Those who have to shift to JB to own both their own private residence and car, are not wealthy in SG.

Those who move are suffering from the middle class squeeze - high cost of living, mortgage loans and stagnant wages reducing disposable income and cash flow. i have a relative who rented out his executive HDB flat, rented a semi-D in JB for $1k a mth, and now lives there with his wife and 4 kids - all home-schooled. They now have a quality of life most heartlanders can only dream of.

I know a couple from Malaysia who worked in S'pore for decades. They opted for early retirement and now live in Ipoh where they own a spacious house and 2 cars. Working in S'pore is fine, but retire in Malaysia and live like a king.
