Bureau (CNB) officer who has since retired was sentenced to six weeks' jail on Wednesday for failing to arrest and hand over two men to the nearest police station for offering him bribes.

Lim Tian Siew alias Lang Tian Siew, 56, is appealing against conviction and sentence.

Formerly attached to the bureau's marine division, the senior staff sergeant retired in September last year and stands to lose his pension of about $500,000 if conviction is maintained.

District Judge Eugene Teo convicted the long-time officer last month of four charges after a 10-day trial.

Seems this crime against the government is worse than raping a 12 year old girl.

Our poodles are too excessively paid indeed and yet they can't even do a little more than what is required of their normal duties. WTF?

I don't think he accepted the bribe. He's in trouble for not reporting that he was offered a bribe. Fuck, give chance to others also can get into trouble.

just dig out some dirt and kiss goodbye to your pension

If pension is that amount, uncle tok! SSS max 350-400k.

Wonder who was his lawyer. This type of case should get off the hook unless he PG in his statement.
