Sabah n Sarawak should start a campaign to secede from Malaysia n join Singapore in a union.
The day they join us, their per, capita income will double immediately
Kinana that is a very good suggestion, albeit too late.
The Union of the "Triple S" - Singapore, Sabah & Sarawak or USSS should have been made way back in the early 60's when Singapore was on the verge of breaking up from Malaysia.
Singapore was allowed to go easily as it was more a threat to Malaysia's policy on "Ketuanan Melayu", whereas these two "gold-mine" states were too valuable for Malaysia to let go.
It is too late at these point of time, as the Malaysian Army is sitting in these states and KL is expediting the transfer of certain Malaysians to reside in these states in huge numbers.
Btw, Sabah and Sarawak states have made ordinary folks like the late Mustafa Harun and Stephen Kalong Ningkan into prominent people. Mustapha was a former office boy (known as peon or thambi in Singapore) and the latter a policeman. Both of these families went on to acquire large wealth.
Harun Mustapha was also a dictator well-known with misappropriating money from the state's coffers and by way of giving timber concessions to cronies. He also led a very lavish life-style and owned some private air-crafts and mansions in England and Australia.
The other famous Sarawakian still alive is the present Mahmud Taib, who was recently in the news for getting married to a very young girl of Arabian descent.
A point to remember is that Phillippines still has claims over Sabah.
On their borders is the Indonesian Province of Kalimantan - the home of Ah Mengs.
