[h=2]Resident complained to Shanmugam about Indian neighbors’ ‘sweaty smell’[/h]Posted by temasektimes on August 21, 2012
Law Minister K Shanmugam has expressed his concern at a complaint he received from one of his residents about the ‘unpleasant’ qualities of his Indian neighbors.
In a posting on his Facebook, Mr Shanmugam wrote:
“I received a complaint from one of my residents, a few weeks ago. He is Singaporean. He was upset that he had to “tolerate” his Indian neighbours. The resident protested at having to “smell their Indian sweaty smell and unwashed bodies”. He described the Indian family as living in squalor and complained about their poor social status.”

It is not revealed if the Indians are native Singaporeans or recent arrivals from the Indian subcontinent.
Mr Shanmugam added that he was quite disturbed by the complaints:
“The rest of the complaints taken together however, are quite disturbing. The resident actually sent me an email setting this out. The resident appears to see his neighbour’s race as being the problem and the overt prejudice is quite troubling….We need to make sure that things stay positive between people of different races.”
Singaporeans have mostly lived in harmony with one another over many years of nation-building. The race issue appears to crop up only lately with the relentless influx of foreigners which has changed the island state’s demographics to beyond recognition.

lianbeng also agrees that ahneh chow chow sibeh chow lah!:D

This sinkie fellow stupid or what? Complain to an Indian about another Indian? In the first place, the smell that you complain about is probably the same smell that he grew up with and so accustomed to.

Kumgong King.

Good observations.

FT ah nehs only keep snakes.

Sorry cannot upz you anymore, but your above comment will make me laugh throughout today. Thanks.

Probably now the ISD will be tasked to actively monitor racist comments and views, especially online content, and invite the 'authors' to tea.

He must be living in a different world. Things appear positive between the races is because of ISA and the possible punitive action that will taken against the person who tries to create havoc. Just look at the different races here and what we say to each other openly...this is the hard truth.

Shan is stirring unnecessary sentiments, You cannot have the Singapore community dividing further.

Maybe the resident and his complaint are fictitious. Maybe Shan invented it. Why? So he can legitimise his party's censure of the peasantry's alleged xenophobia and foreigner bashing; so he can set one side of the population against another in a divide-and-rule tactic.

He shld go ask Janil Puthucheary why nobody complained about Indians in his MTP sessions.

Only an an neh will think that there is nothing wrong about ah neh's smell.

Why must he distinguish so clearly that the resident whom made the complaint is a Singaporean? Can't a resident be just a resident? Who's doing the dividing? Kaninabuchaocheebye!:oIo:

PUNDEK!

A PAPpy cabinet was recently Quoted saying to Locals, "Not to get involved in xenophobia bashing against foreigners because the locals might turn on you 1 day" <----Something like this, It was a statement i believe In my own opinion was a warning for the minority community, that the majority would turn on them one day.
