SINGAPORE: The opposition Reform Party has sent its condolences to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the passing of his mother, Madam Kwa Geok Choo.
In a letter to Mr Lee on Monday, the party's Secretary General Kenneth Jeyaretnam said that even though he never had the opportunity to meet Madam Kwa, she was clearly an immense pillar of support to her family over the years.
Mr Jeyaretnam added that Prime Minister Lee can be proud of Madam Kwa's achievements in education, professional life and as a founder of the Lee and Lee, as well as a mother in raising a talented family.
Mr Jeyaretnam said his thoughts go with the Lee family at this most difficult time of loss
