Redrawing election boundaries to the advantage of the incumbent party is a TOTAL WRONG

The MIW needs to address this problem of their own making before the GE.

SDP chief Chee Soon Juan spent years walking the ground in Bukit Batok, only to have the single-member constituency removed in the latest review of the electoral boundaries. As the Elections Department is not an independent body, but forms part of the executive branch under the Prime Minister, it enables the PAP to decide electoral boundaries, based on poll results in the previous election.

ELD got muddled into legislative arm although it should be independent on its own under executive Arm.

How stupid can sinkie be knowing they draw the boundaries to their advantage and sinkie wanted to fulfil them by voting for them?

"The S'porean govt is once again abusing the justice system and trampling on basic rights to remove an opposition politician from the political playing field ......... The govt should end this persecution of Dr Chee (Soon Juan) and show that free speech is not a dead letter in S'pore." - Phil Robertson, Deputy Asia Director at Human Rights Watch (Feb 2011).

It is laughable that a so-called "democratic" govt would actually lock up a citizen for giving a speech on a pavement and encouraging people to buy their party's newsletter. "The govts reviewing S'pore's record at the Human Rights Council should highlight cases where S'pore's oppressive laws make peaceful speech a criminal offense" - Phil Robertson, Deputy Asia Director at Human Rights Watch (Feb 2011).

Election Department stops aiding the incumbent party gerrymandering, be neutral. Otherwise, don't call singapore a democratic society.

Something is indeed rotten in the state of S'pore when the Elections Dept is under the Prime Minister's Office.
