Please stand up more against rudeness in public
Was at a neighbourhood mall today and this commotion happened.
A couple with a baby was walking towards the escalator and there were kids running around the area. One of the kids hit the wife who was carrying the baby and still stood in their way playing after that. The husband let out a loud “oi” for them to disperse.
Here comes the ironic part - the dad of the kids (who was just nearby them & looked/sounded south asian) confronted the husband with an aggressive “excuse me?!”
The husband very firmly told the dad his kids ran into his wife carry the baby but the dad still postures it as if his kids have no fault. The husband shouted back at the dad something along the lines of “handle your kids before others do”
Was quite surprised a local is willing to stand up for himself as we’d usually want to avoid confrontations in public. Hopefully more of this happens so we can stamp out and not normalise rudeness in public. What are your thoughts?
