I’m blacklisted from the MRT..???​

I’m a local student, using the student ez-link card to take MRT/bus. Today while trying to tap into the MRT gantry, my card kept getting rejected. Later after asking staff for help to check my card, I realised not only it got blocked by the system, but apparently it’s also blacklisted from the MRT, and I have to pay off $20 debt to be un-blacklisted??? I don’t even know where that came from????

I went to check my card history, all transactions went through fine, I didn’t forget to tap out of MRT/bus at any point in time, and I just topped up my card yesterday so there’s no way the balance could be negative (I have $20 left in there actually).

I use my card almost every day, and this has never happened before. In fact, just yesterday I was using it to take the MRT as per usual. I swear I didn’t commit horrible acts or fraud with my card, just very confused as to why I randomly owe money to SMRT and they suddenly refuse to let me take the train? Has this happened to anyone else?

Really? New modern cars can be disengaged by the authorities or even it's own safety device if it thinks you are not fit to drive.

weird, how come this LOCAL student didn't go and really check why the blacklist and then just pay $20. This mentality is an issue, not the blacklist.

The worst is yet to come after they implement CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency)..... you guai lan with them (ie: refuse vaccination for people like us, being a dissent, never sing praises or carry balls of garhmen, etc...), they basically can lock your money and tell you when and where you can spend your money. As if that isn't enough, your money will then comes with an expiration date and the introduction of negative interest rates. Funny thing you have the same sheeples rooting for it. CDC vouchers is a tool to condition your brain for the upcoming CBDC and it devalue your savings (meaning some years you literally work for free until you don't even realize it). When money is devalued, prices of goods and services goes up. Happening liao isn't it as I say many years back while everyone is rooting for CDC vouchers? The expansion of money supply without increasing the total amount of goods and services in the economy can only leads to currency devaluation. It's Basic Economics 101. Ever realize why school never teaches you anything about the time value of money or anything about money? Anyone wants to dispute that?
