Do Singaporeans need to worry about Khalwat laws while in Malaysia?

General

Hi all, me and my girlfriend are both planning to stay overnight in JB sometime soon. We're both Singaporeans, but I'm Malay and not Muslim (legally am, though). She is not a Muslim. Are Khalwat laws something we have to worry about if we're staying in the same room overnight? Do the laws apply to non-Malaysians?

Yes, if legally he is a Muslim. But only he will be punished. The laws do not apply to the non-Muslim.

I wish Christians and Catholic have similar laws. Muslim sets a higher standard. Muslim 1 - 0 Christians/Catholics.

Even if you're a non practising Muslim doesn't make u a non Muslim...The Boleh land Khalwat police will still apprehend u..
Better denounce your religion n change your name!

Rule of thumb. Piak, piak, piak and creampie first then talk about simi law....

@syed putra You changed your name?
Why should i. He can Purchase a fake marriage certificate. Local religious authorities wont be able to verify. Or stay in higher end hotels where privacy is guaranteed.
Of course, ramadan may mean more merit points for sin busters and this is a incentive to get couples living in sin.

You should not check in any jiu hu hotel with your passport, the local religious police will come after you. HDB staircase is safer.
