Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t

Thoughts

I went looking outside my marriage thinking I could find what was missing.

What I actually found was a pattern.

You either meet someone you really connect with emotionally, easy conversation, consistent, says all the right things, and then there’s zero chemistry in person.

Or you get strong chemistry, attraction, tension, that spark, but no real depth, no consistency, and something always feels off.

And in between those two, you run into the liars, the addicts, and the creeps sending the famous dick pics (who the heck enjoys them??).

It becomes this cycle where you think the next one might finally be the right mix, and it never is.

And the worst part, it almost always ends in heartbreak. Especially if you’ve had one that actually felt good before. That one raises the bar, makes you believe it’s possible again, and then everything after just falls short or falls apart.

Meanwhile, real life is still there. Your significant other is still there. In my case, not a bad person at all, just missing romance, touch, sex. But still real. Still consistent. Still someone who shows up.

Online, it’s mostly fragments of people, or versions of them.

So yeah, just something to think about.

Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.

S'poreans are suffering because 65% believed in voting "the devil they know" rather than the Opposition they do not know because they have never formed the SG govt.
