HDB woes

So I was about to buy a 2 room HDB flat. Everything was going smoothly, bank loan IPA was settled, option fee paid, request for valuation was completed. Suddenly, when my bank found out that the loan was for a 2 room flat, I was told that banks do not finance 2 room flats, which came as a shock to me. I do not qualify for a HDB loan either as I’ve been working for less than a year. So now I am stuck. I do not have the funds to pay for the entire flat in cash, nor do I want to give up the flat because I like it very much and the option fee has already been paid. Would love to hear if anyone is able to share information about circumventing this rule or seeking an exception. Thanks!
