If the opium British were evil, the communist red chinks aren't any better. Grabbing others' territories on the pretext of "One Belt, One Road" investments. The worst hypocrites ever! At least the British fought the opium wars to get Hong Kong.

NEW DELHI — Struggling to pay its debt to Chinese firms, the nation of Sri Lanka formally handed over the strategic port of Hambantota to China on a 99-year lease last week, in a deal that government critics have said threatens the country’s sovereignty.

In recent years, China has shored up its presence in the Indian Ocean, investing billions of dollars to build port facilities and plan maritime trade routes as part of its “One Belt, One Road” initiative to help increase its market reach.

Along the way, smaller countries like Sri Lanka have found themselves owing debts they cannot pay. Sri Lanka owes more than $8 billion to state-controlled Chinese firms, officials say.

Sri Lankan politicians said the Hambantota deal, valued at $1.1 billion, was necessary to chip away at the debt, but analysts warned of the consequences of signing away too much control to China.

“The price being paid for reducing the China debt could prove more costly than the debt burden Sri Lanka seeks to reduce,” said N. Sathiya Moorthy, a senior fellow specializing in Sri Lanka at the New Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation.

It is just the same as Pee Sai given to USA Navy & Air Force and still provided Orchard Tower CB Whores to US GI Marines and Niggers. That some more is of INDEFINITE PERIOD not just 100 years.

Seri Lanka need PLA protection against ABNN, otherwise ABNN sponsored Tamil Tigers Terrorists will occupy a rebel zone. PLA already proven via Duterte can save Pinoy ass from any rebels better than USA.

Now many tiny regimes will welcome PLA bases. Unlike Pee Sai Whores still abuse our CPF money to safe bankrupted beggar Ang Moh from bankruptcy of war costs. Xijinpin still gave Duterte tons of ammos and good guns, and Piak the fuck of ISIS and retake Marawi. Duterte is so happy now. Any more rebel he will use Xijinping sponsored guns and ammos to shot all dead. Duterte advertised for 1B1R strongly - MEMBERSHIP HAVE PRIVILEGES.

Xijnping HUAT AH!

if you know their history, the Communist Bandit leaders are smart people. it is regrettable from a Chinese pov, they wasted 30 years when the world was rapidly developing economically back then. think a rising China displacing a declining USA as world superpower is inevitable.

Sri Lankans, like the Indians, are known for being big talkers, with little action. And when they are in the opposition their voices get louder and actions less than positive. If not for the Chinese, Sri Lanka would today still be fighting the civil war, refugees would be smuggling themselves to Europe and Australia, and the than already horrible antiquated infra structure would have totally collapsed by now and the country and its people be looking like Angola. Where was the rest of the world at that time? The Chinese economic colonization saved the country. The Chinese saved the country and the politicians and most importantly helped to lift the people out of the growing misery and the country is finally buzzing along quite nicely. If not for the armaments and training provided by the Chinese when no one else will, they defeated the Tamil tigers. Multi lane international standard toll highways now link up most parts of Sri Lanka. I remember it it used to take me 2- 3 hrs to get from the airport to Colombo on poorly lit potholed roads. On my last trip it took me just over 30 minutes!! The Colombo skyline is changing beyond recognition and yes the are Chinese companies every where. SriLlanka is one of the few places mainland Chinese can visit without a visa. The Chinese have given soft loans to develop the infrastructure. So what if a big debt is owned. At least the country and people are benefiting. As I said, Sri Lankan are talkers and I will add they are also grumblers even when things are good and getting better. But deep inside, no matter what, the are quietly grateful that the Chinese are there. No one else was and even now really interested in them.

Anything and everything that China is doing is to squeeze India from a pivotal role in Indian Ocean. Maldives just signed their viginity away with a fta with China. Their economy exist because of Chinese tourists.

Their ultimate goal is the Middle Eastern oil. With their hands on ports from South Asia they potentially can regulate the oil flow to Asia and Japan.
