So what if everyone is in it for self-interest?

Just answer this very simple and basic question. If the Opp (lots of them) r not in it to benefit themselves, why cant they unite when they know that unity will benefit Singaporeans and Singapore?

(i) One party rule has gone on for too long. Its time for SG to catch up with the times.

(ii) PAP has become incomptent, ineffective and there have been too many screw ups ranging from housing defects to train breakdowns

(ii) PAP wants to play dirty using by exploiting the grassroots organizations and the mass media to work against the people and the opposition in particular. Time to send a clear message that such tactics cannot be tolerated anymore.

(iv) Continued use of lawsuits, IMH detention, shows PAP has not changed. Even LKY did not jail a 17yo boy, as horrible a person and awful leader to our country as he already was in his time.

(v) Its time to let a plurality of ideas and opinion flourish and not have everything dictated by one party. Related to point (i)

(vi) Need to send a clear message again that Singaporeans remain extremely pissed over foreigners and crumbling infrastructure. Related to point (ii)

It depends on how you flip the coin. Pappies have proven they can deliver...they brought the country from slum land to wonder land that even other world leaders heaped praise for the drastic change in the island.

As for the oppo parties, none tested yet in governance. WP is now in the front line to form next Govt but can they deliver? WP has no track record in governance and one slip, the country is finished. Sinapor is a small country. Once unravelled, it will not flourish again. Sinkies surely will not want to see their homeland destroyed. As for the Ass-Pee-R and other foreigners, should sinkieland drown, you die your business.

Sinapor must not, and God forbids, go the same way as Greece.

For the time being, it is just OK to put some oppo parties in Parliament to keep pappies on their toes but to form the next Govt, it is still a long shot. All of us can kpkb but in the real world, we still need a stable Govt, even the pappies though sometimes dumb, are still better for sinkies.
