Lots of Sinkies are very brainwashed by local and angmo media until they got no head or not tail on historical matters.
Fact is:
1. Once LKY got into power (removing PAP's left-winged members and jailed the pro-China left-winged Chinese speaking oppositions), manoeuvre himself into the US political and economical hemisphere, he was very anti-CCP-China. Those who are old enough (especially the Chinese educated bunch) will recall how LKY would bash China, saying that it was a very backward country with faked prosperity. This is quite true especially under the crazy Mao (with Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution).
2. LKY and his minions are so anti-China that they even caused trouble for Bank of China's staffs' D&D event. They switched off the power mains to the building where the event was in.
3. When Deng XP got into power and decided to turn China 180 degree around, LKY was very smart enough to realise the potential of the huge market. He behaved exactly like the current Pinoy President, fly all the way to China to cozy up with Deng and CCP. He even took effort to learn Mandarin in order to Poh Lampa Deng. But the Chinese are the same like LKY, shrewd and cunning, have long memories who those who offended them. Deng was a very patient person who understand the China at that time need outside investments and ideas (coming out from the disastrous years under Mao).
4. Local media like Zaobao was so over the top until they say LKY is China/CCP "Old Friend" *roll eyes*. If one recall, alot of the government officials even told Mediacorp that China is learning from Singapore, that CCP Elites are "not well educated" etc. LKY was so smittened by CCP that he even publicly supported the TAM student suppression.
5. CCP was so smart they lick PAP/LKY balls until they threw in Billions of $$$ for the gigantic Suchow project. LKY also personally bought land in China for his own person investment. The rest is HISTORY. This is same with how many of the local uncles get their ego stroked and monies sucked out by ATB.
6. Before LKY died, he really tulan PRC/CCP because of (5). In fact it is quite well known he went to the press, asking US to reinvigorate its involvement in Asia, to go back to the Cold War Era. That is the reason for Singapore's lobbying efforts for US Navy to be based here (to counter China on South China Sea).
So the FACT IS, LHL is just carrying on instructions from his father.
