The PAP are ravenous wolves in white sheep's clothing. They keep proclaiming themselves as an honest govt, but actions speak louder than words. Look at how they dishonestly conduct the GE every 5 years. To have the Elections Dept placed under the PM's Office is totally undemocratic to begin with.

The PMO is led by the head of the ruling party, so this arrangement makes it difficult for the ELD to be impartial in its operations; especially concerning matters that could impact the ruling party's electoral advantage.

The Electoral Boundaries Review Committee which redraws constituency lines, is appointed by the PM and its recommendations are not subject to parliamentary approval. This is a dishonest tool the ruling party uses to its advantage, by creating electoral divisions that favour its candidates. Since the ELD provides secretariat support to the EBRC, its placement under the PMO is corruption.

If he did not say he would be a full-time MP at the time of the election campaign, I'm fine with it.

If you say it at the time of the election campaign, like Dr Chee, then you turn the election into a job interview, and people will look at your current earnings to see if you are deserving of the $190,000 stipendiary.

Dr Chee is intelligent but not wise. By putting forward himself as the better candidate than the incumbent because he would be working full-time, he undermined Prof. Paul Thambyah's position because Paul wasn't going to give up his full-time job in NUH.​

Cheat is a strong word & should not be misused. Meaning illegitimate.
It's called rigged. Unfair platform, making regulations to unfair advantage but put law to it to make it legitimate.
