10 years ago I was posted to Shanghai for a year, many mutton BBQ stick stalls were caught selling cat meat as mutton. Actually its not their fault as meat is supplied by someone else. This is very popular street food almost 100% sold by Xinjiang Muslims everywhere in China. The meat is BBQ fresh but laden with lots of spices and looks like our satay but much bigger with chunky meat.

The satay looks very nice,,,and there is nothing wrong with eating 'ye mei'. The problem is no one can trace where the meat comes from and can be from the drain etc. These meat could be highly contaminated etc. And with this H7N9 or whatever virus that is spreading. These unsanctioned meat could be the cause of it. Right now with this new bird flu, the worse is the source of infection cant be traced and it could be these contaminated meat that is causing this spread and its hard to trace. Guess we are all screwed.
