EXPECT rainy days from now till January as the Northeast Monsoon is setting in. During the rainy spell, season, periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected to affect Singapore, with high tides ranging from 3 to 3.2m, said the National Environment Agency's (NEA) Meteorological Services Division in an update on Monday. NEA also warned that heavy rain coinciding with high tides could lead to localised flash floods in the low-lying areas such as Lorong Buangkok, Jalan Seaview, Meyer Road, Lorong 101 - Lorong 106 Changi and Everitt North Road. Motorists travelling along roads in these areas are advised to exercise caution if there are flash floods. PUB, the national water agency, had earlier in October sent advisories to residents and shop-owners in these areas to warn them of the possibility of flash floods and to take the necessary precautions to protect their belongings by storing them on higher ground or placing sandbags to block floodwaters. In addition, PUB has completed 10 fast track projects to alleviate flooding in flood prone areas such as Cuscaden Road, the junction of Tg Katong and Mountbatten Roads, Commonwealth Avenue, Joan Road, Sims Ave near Lorong 35 Geylang and Bedok North Ave 3. PUB has also stepped up monitoring and intensified the inspection and cleansing of 58 hotspots island-wide to ensure that the drainage system is not blocked.
Residents and shop-owners in areas such as Chinatown, Boat Quay, Geylang and Jalan Besar are also advised to take the necessary precautions to protect their belongings in the event of prolonged heavy rain coinciding with high tide, even though the Marina Barrage, a dam built across the Marina Channel, acts as a tidal barrier to alleviate flash floods in low-lying areas in the city.

Re: Rainy season is here

yeah, religious people have all sort of reasons for things around them, but they are all rubbish.

1000 years later, i am sure homo sapien will characterise religious as a mental disease.

Re: Rainy season is here

i recalled the end of the year rainy seasons used to be during the December and throughout Janurary?

Why shifted early in November?

Like China is getting the worse snow storms in recent history...

Man is responsible for the strange behaviours in weather patterns..

this kind of rain is good, it cleanses all out our sins away.....

This topic is interesting, a Xtian friend of mine once explained this to me like this.

When explained from a Biblical point of view, you can say that whenever the angels in heaven taking their pee breaks, it will rain.

Now with so many good Christians already believed to be in heaven after death, it will rain more frequently and heavily too.
hmm so on the other end the world is getting hotter by the day probably more souls are getting roasted in hell....
