legalised ponzi scheme.....the more people at the bottom, the more they collect at the top.

There are no shortage of financial planners / insurance agent in Singapore. The managers are always on a hiring spree because it is a commission-based business. No basic salary except for some minor exceptions where the company takes in already seasoned marketeers and trains them up to sell insurance policies. Even then the basic salary lasts only first few months and can be clawed back in event of early resignation.

A commission based salesperson incurs little or no overheads.

If you are considering career options. Maybe you should look at selling properties:o

Sadly there's few options in Spore because you can't compete with the PAP.

Financial advisors are cheap or practically free to employ. Each one that comes through the door comes with practically infinite ROI. So of course all such insurance agencies would be keen and ready to "employ" these free tabours.

I think most minimally street smart knows how this works.

The only fear for a manager is that he recruits someone who needs hundreds of hours to train and in the end he can't sell the products.

Not so much money wasted, but time and effort wasted training a dud.

It's a numbers game. For every 9 dud, you get one good guy/gal.

My pal was sick and tired of getting so many dud recruits, he chose to recruit those mid level career types who had been displaced from their jobs rather then those fresh graduates-green-behind-the-ears types.

Unfortunately it didn't work out as those mid career folks are usually quite mobile and they will leave once a proper job opportunity comes their way.

Insurance agent is not a proper job, no matter how you look at it.

There was a time long long ago, people could make a very good living and see their kids through college with insurance jobs. Those days are long gone.

There are many factors if you are thinking becoming an insurance aks financial planner. "Pepsi cola" effect happens you thought you can make it when your best buddy, brothers and sisters buy from you. After that, no more fizz. The number of persons may be huge, think 6.9 million on sinky island, but to get them to buy is another matter. Selling insurance is like putting your hand into a person's pocket to take his cash, he will break your arm if you do that. To improve your odds, preferably you are also a girl who likes plunging necklines or short skirts when meeting your customers. If you are a guy, be prepared to do buy people lots of lunches while IRAS will hound you to death over your expense claims and medisave takes out a huge chunk of your commissions. I think driving taxi and selling properties are better temporary employment choice.

That is correct... Ponzi scheme or pyramid scheme. FPs are mostly jobless insurance agents.
Confirm sign chop.

go income.com.sg read what u want.. click on apply, fill in and wait for the insurance documents to arrive. i dont see the need for setting up an apptment with a "financial planner"...

Most imptly, they do not help you to plan your finances, they are helping themselves to plan.. and their plan is maximise sale.. start from selling which give the most comm, then work the way down... Why would they wanna help, some may appear really helpful.. but sorry, it just doesnt make sense.. human are not programmed/conditioned to help another stranger..
