FIned $1K for all those troubles? Idiot can even make a short trip to Haadyai for 5 days of R and R instead of BEING TOO SELF RIGHTEOUS (typical Sinkie behaviour) which end up with him doing stupid things (ie chaining his bicycle in @ the NL)

If he is young, I can understand his impetuos behaviour. This is a middle-aged man!!!!! well, it is his bad karma.

Haadyai for 5 days of R and R

Well there is an option for him, don't pay the $1k to PAP govt, got to QRP for 5 days of R and R. Then after that spent the saved $1K to Haadyai for 5 days of R and R.

So totally he will get 10 days of R & R, 5 days in QRP, 5 days in Haadyai.

Then after he returns, he can change his nick here from QXP to QRP.
