The mee rebus standard had fallen drastically, so were the satays...there are lesser satay sellers today. The putu piring is nice, have queue up for it once & took a picture. As compared to the Malay woman who sells that at Suptnik coffeeshop or something of that name coffeeshop in Serangoon Gardens . The Haig Rd one is pale by comparisons, unfortunately the coffee shop had changed hands & don't know, where that Malay woman went. There is another putu piring stall near to Joo Vhiat Complex, which is just a s good as the one at Haig Road Mkt.
Many of the original food vendors after the major renovations have disappeared, either they took the whatever compensation NEA gave them & retired or move elsewhere. There is Chinese food stall that sells a damn good pigs trotter in dark sauce & it is quickly sold out.
