s300 and s400 will never be outdated,they are the most powerful SAMs out there.even the s300 is feared by the nato airforce,capable of taking down any jet except the F35 and F22.

S-500 is more than that.
It is capable of shooting off missiles instead of just planes. In fact it can shoot off nuke MLRV ICBM warheads. Also shoot off the latest hypersonic weapons.

russians built their equipment to be heavy duty and long lasting and require simple or no maintenance and legacy technology.......u can have a nuclear apocalyspe and wipe everything off the surface of the planet,go to one of their underground bunkers or silos 30 years later and turn on one of their computers or their power plants or pneumatic silo doors or gas turbines or diesel engines and it will still work granted even if it looks like 1970s technology.not like america super high tech but fragile and if something breaks ur not going to find spare parts easily in the middle of war or in a nuclear apocalyspe.just like their submarines.

The MH-17 BUK Missiles are Cold War era's can not compare S-500, USA can not afford to have anything similar, although their arms dealers may propose or prototype some concepts, there is NOT $$$ to pay for such projects.
No need good screen resolution to spoil soldiers. They are not price paying consumers. Just reliable durable equipment to carry out duties and kill Ang Mo enemies is enough.
