Nikkolette Wee filmed the unusual spread at RISE restaurant during a family dinner on Jan. 25 and shared the clip on Instagram on Apr. 12.

"I was not expecting to see this at a buffet at Marina Bay Sands," she said in the video, adding that while she is adventurous with food, this was "pushing the limits".

Speaking to Mothership, she said that while she was aware of the Aussie-themed buffet, she didn't know there would be crocodile meat there.

Wee also told Lianhe Zaobao, Wee stated that she was no stranger to crocodile meat.

Scroll to continuHer dog had previously suffered from skin conditions requiring a "novel protein" diet, which led her to purchase crocodile meat for it.
"So seeing crocodile feet didn't surprise me," she said. "But seeing them presented in such a way at a buffet was strange."
However, she noted that she also found the visual contrast quite interesting.
According to Zaobao, the dinner coincided with Australia Day, during which RISE had collaborated with notable chefs including Michelin-starred Chef Tetsuya Wakuda of Waku Ghin and Chef Cameron Kydd of Junction Moama, to offer a limited-time themed menu.

Here were some of the delectable, very Australian, treats that day.

Alongside the crocodile feet, diners were also served kangaroo meat dishes that evening.

As striking as the presentation was, however, the taste left Wee with mixed feelings.

She described the flavour to Zaobao as resembling "chicken with a fishy smell."
Wee also told Mothership the crocodile was quite a puzzle for her.

"It was also left on our table for awhile before i figured out which parts were edible - so overall the whole claw was rock hard and cold."

She suggested to Zaobao that restaurants might offer a better experience by using other cuts of the reptile and exploring cooking methods such as braising.

Tiongs like to eat croc feet? I thought it's chicken feet they enjoy eating.

I see Tiongs wearing crocs, especially those decorated with many cute things.

The PAP regime has already approved insects for eating, and if I remember correctly, once upon a time croc herbal soup was sold at places where turtle soup was also sold.
