Proof that both NTUC Fairprice and Health Promotion Board are sleeping on the job.
Ref: 400gm Tau Kwa from Fairprice :
The amount of Sodium/ 200gm cake based upon Guideline Daily Amount is listed as 31% because the amount for calcium (625mg/200g cake) has been mistakenly used.
Perhaps the Tau Hu department at NTUC don't know the difference between sodium and calcium, but HPB???!!!
Those folks at HPB just blindly rubber stamp their 'Healthier Choice' label and even have the gall to blindly endorse a product that per 200g peice, would make up 31% of a person's sodium (salt) intake as "Lower in Sodium".
Possibly, the folks at HPB also cannot tell the difference between Sodium and Calcium at all either.
The health of Singaporeans is a circus act because the bureaucracy is filled with a bunch of over paid cosplay artiste in ivory towers and not at all paying attention at work...
"As of 2010, more than half of Singapore's adult population between 18 and 69 years old have high cholesterol, four in 10 are overweight or obese, a quarter have prediabetes or diabetes and about one in five has hypertension."
