Thus, COE, road taxes, fines, fuel taxes, parking charges all need to increase for private and commercial vehicle owners so as to pay for the implementation of these public transportation security measures since using private transportation is an optional choice and all who use private transportation can very well opt to use public transportation if they choose not to enjoy excessive luxury. The luxury of private motor vehicle transportation should come at a responsible price.

Because Singapore is a republic and an inclusive society, the government may well close off all roads to cars and confiscate all cars for government use and open all roads to bicycles and PMD use only if there is massive MRT shutdown due to massive terror attack on the MRT system that causes many lines to be unable to operate or fail. In such instance, only commercial vehicles ferrying goods and buses will be allowed on the roads as well as cars licensed by government to be used because majority of roads will have to be used for bus and other public transportation instead (army trucks and other commercial passenger transportation vehicles may be roped in to provide transportation for the able bodied if buses are insufficient to cope with MRT breakdown).

Not just one or six like they prepared. Every single station will need one and even at the Depot where staff enter (pilots and cabin crew have to pass airport security, no?).

Once a supermarket trolley ended up on an MRT train because some of the LRT stations are unmanned and thus somebody pushed an entire large supermarket trolley into the MRT viz the transfer station between LRT and MRT lines, so no point screening passengers at isolated stations only to have terrorist wheel in a bomb in supermarket trolley from a totally unmanned LRT station:

MRT commuters were stunned to see this woman with a supermarket trolley onboard. STOMPers who saw the woman are now wondering how she managed to get past SMRT staff at the gantry.

She did not care that the large trolley was inconveniencing others onboard.

STOMPer Malou says the woman even shouted and scolded fellow commuters and screamed when an SMRT staff told her to alight from the train.

"This woman has a pushcart inside the MRT and she didn't mind that she was hitting people with it.

"She started screaming when scolded about it and called other passengers stupid, even telling some of them to 'go back to your own country'.

"I saw this auntie with an NTUC trolley in the MRT.

"Is she doing shopping in the train?

"How did she manage to push the trolley into the train without any SMRT staff seeing her?".
