President Francois Hollande takes pay cut

The first thing France's new President Francois Hollande will do when he takes office today will be to cut his own salary by 30% from 19,000 EUR to 13,300 EUR (S$21,280) pm.

France has the second largest economy behind Germany in the European Union and ranks fifth largest in the world.

President Francois Hollande's salary must surely embarass our Dear Leader, Lee Hsien Loon.

they are the leading and founding countries of EU, when they wrote up EU law, the rules greatly benefit France, so that a massive amount of taxes money in other parts of EU goes to them as farm subsidy. They also force european parliament to move every few months between Brussel and to Strasbourg. Everytime they move, it cost money and you still need to keep staffs and cost of running of meeting place even when they are not in uses. France take in more money as a result from EU then it put in.
