Mr Zhang (60 year-old) who runs a business in Balestier Road turned out to be Singapore’s first male porn actor.

He has worked with Hong Kong’s movie stars Andy Lau, Rosamund Kwan as well as other stars, filmed in two movies and more than 20 local drama series as a freelance actor.

He was only 23 years old, newly wed and has no worries about money when he started starring in porn movies in the early 70s.

When asked why he did it, Mr Zhang said, “"The pornographic film was an investment from a friend in Taiwan and he liked my body build. I was young and adventurous, so I went to do it without telling my family.”

Although the actresses are beautiful, it’s not easy making porn movies,” he added

It's not easy....there's no shiokness factor....I know cause I tried it once by roping in 3 friends as cameramen.....just a little side project.....no as fun as I imagined.....it was tedious performing under strong studio lights and instructions from the 3 guys whom only one is my friend and the other 2 were his friends whom I just knew on the day of the shoot. Everyone was very professional. I din enjoy it but glad I tried it.
