Chitchat Predictable PAP

Can you offer better people to run the country? So far you have been bitching a lot but what are your solutions for the short, medium and long term in terms of candidates to run the country.

Do you admit that the pap has committed many mistakes? Do you admit that the pap tries to conceal their mistakes?

You have not been able to refute my truths.

Neither have you offered any suitable people whom you think can do better. It is far easier to throw stones at people like you are doing now than to offer proper alternatives and better solutions.

I am glad that you have the decency not to side with liars and tyrants and admit pap's wrong doings

I intend to continue speaking up against pap which tries to deny, distract, conceal

Why did you think the PAP planted KPMG to overseas ANTC finances? Smart sinkees knows the reason.

Well said. Only stupid Singaporeans believe the PAP. PAP is trying to distract us by using the AHTC card against the WP

Why do you think that the PAP has a monopoly on talented people? PAP doesn't. Look at this bunch of ministers ...how many of them have achieved anything in the real world? In fact, most of the ministers of the past came from iron bowl background.

When you are in politics, you must be prepared to be critiqued. Sadly, the PAP ministers are not getting sufficient scrutiny. If they were in a true democracy, many would have been tossed out.

PAP will never be good as long as they are allergic to constructive criticisms and uses the law to silence criticisms.

So I ask you the same question, who do you think can replace the people in the PAP? It shouldnt be difficult to get a few names since the bar that the PAP has set is so low that you and others can find something to criticise everyday. Name me some names then lets see.

Why would anyone want to risk it all when the PAP has such tight control? If the PAP is losing control, you will see these capable people emerge.

You have been putting up with mediocrity and you don't even know. And you think paying them the world's highest salary for ministers is justifiable. You have been suckered and you don't even know.

Please tell me what have these ministers accomplished? You have a toothpick thief labour minister. You have a talk big transport minister who goes into hiding when his portfolio is in a shambles. You have two education ministers who think that they are running schools like military camps.

Just tell me what have they accomplished.

When the country is well run and things run smoothly ( not perfectly ) people dont appreciate it until things really break down in a big way. One does not have to look far geographically to see how bad things can be when the country is not well run.
No government is ever going to be perfect, what they do may be good for the day itself but may be irrelevant or may not work further along the road because everything is so dynamic and fluid, with conditions and landscapes always changing.

Personally I dont think I have put up with any mediocrity since most things work fine here. Obviously things could be better but to complain about every single thing day in and day out is either a mark of a loser or a liar.

SG was well run for 30years. It is crumbling now. The new pap is living on past glories built up by the pioneer generation. SG is getting from bad to worse. The new pap under LHL has achieved nothing for SG and Singaporeans for the past 12 years. The new pap is destroying SG and making life miserable for Singaporeans. I am worried for SG children now. When they grow up, the pap would have totally destroyed what the pioneer generation has built. Look at how some of the pioneer generation have to toil for their living!

Recognise telling the truth from complaining.

Distinguish leadership from mediocrity.

PAP has no leadership but instead shows mediocrity has to resort to rule by law

It is a different landscape these days. In the past , the PAP's achievements were more easily visible. Roads, buildings, factories added to the infrastructure of the land. Other sectors such as transport , electronics and shipping were developed and upgraded. All these achievements were visible mainly because they started from a low base.

These days the achievement is to keep things moving along smoothly while still improving and also to keep the country safe from threats which can come from the outside or from the inside. I dont think anything significant has been destroyed or that things have regressed. You choose to make lots of noise about the imperfections of the system but have offered nothing in terms of how these can be rectified and by whom. Offer some kind of workable solution, constructive criticism . Offer a few names that you think can make the place better and no one will grudge their remuneration.
Do something properly useful instead of whining here all the time.

That's a lame excuse. The new PAP under LHL has marginalised Singaporean's lives. Infrastructure is deteriorating. PAP has to resort to vices to earn money. What good has come out of LHL's pap? Not enough hospital beds is good? No jobs is good? Road congestion is good? High ERP is good? High cost of living is good? High healthcare costs is good?

You have not been able to refute the following PAP misdeeds.
1. Squandered S$300m on YOG when its budget was S$100m. How did PAP get it so badly wrong?
2. Brought in millions of 3rd world unqualified, unskilled trash instead of real foreign talents
3. Increased SG suicide rate from 271 in 1995 to 467 in 2012. An increase of 70%.
4. Teenage suicide rate in SG doubled from in 2015
5. Increased GST, claiming that it was to help the poor
6. Denied that those had to collect cardboards are poor
7. Claimed that those who wiped hawker centre tables did it out of boredom
8. Claimed that there are no poor people in SG
9. Declared that every Singapore can afford healthcare in SG
10. Claimed that PA is politically neutral and serves all Singaporeans and every SG political party regardless of affiliation
11. Fumbled big time in the Sports Hub concept and operations, turning it into a white elephant
12. Mishandled the maintenance and operation of MRT and LRT lines
13. Mishandled the influx of cheap foreigners and endangering the future reliability of our lifts and integrity of our buildings
14. Sued ordinary Singaporeans who dared voice out against bad govt policies, the latest is the POHA against Dr Ting
15. Opened of two casinos
16. Online gambling ban exemption for two cronies, SG Pools and Turf Club
17. Profiteering from poor, sick, aged Singaporeans
18. Favoured foreigners, discriminated against Singaporeans
19. NS for Singaporeans, jobs for foreigners
20. Meted out lighter sentence for foreign offenders, heavier sentence for Singaporeans
21. Gave away SG citizenship to 3rd world foreigners like toilet paper
22. Accused patriotic Singaporeans of xenophobia when they objected to Filipinos wanting to celebrate their Independence Day in a public area in Downtown Orchard road
23. Resorted to amend SG's Constitution to prevent a popular Singaporean patriot from contesting the Elected Presidency
24. Displayed arrogance, lack of accountability, lack of transparency when asked to explain their mistakes
25. Accused Singaporeans of adopting a blame culture when the pap was criticised for bad mistakes
26. Used GRC as a disguise to bring in sub standard cronies
27. Started $2 company AIM to subvert Opposition Party
28. Reneged on promise to return Singaporeans CPF when they reach 55yrs old
29. Covered up structural defects of MRT trains
30. Suspicious awarded contracts to non bid tenderers
31. Turned SG into a junta
32. Arbitrarily and unilaterally manipulated the CPF Retirement Account to deny Singaporeans their hard earned savings
33. Covered up the Hep C outbreak at SGH for several months despite the loss of 8 lives
34. Used law to harass patriotic Singaporeans, eg Dr Ting
35. Used law to intimidate true blue Singaporeans eg Roy Ngerng
36. Used law to charge concerned citizens eg Han Hui hui
37. PM sued an unemployed Singapore
38. Honoured SPF Officers who fled from stone throwing foreigners
39. Condoned SPF Officers who braved themselves to handcuff Singapore children for alleged petty crime
40. PAP uses >$1Billion tax payers' money to fund Peoples' Association.

So dont come and say good things abt the pap when you cant even deny their bad deeds

If pap cant solve Circle Line disruption problem, will pap resort to banning sending signals or banning handphones on mrts?

Sadly, the PAP ministers are not getting sufficient scrutiny.
Once again, I'm not pro-PAP, but I dare say that never before in the history of Singapore has the PAP received more scrutiny than during the past decade, simply because of the internet. ;)

In fact, the PAP has been getting so much scrutiny that there's almost nothing left to scrutinize, so the problem is not that the PAP (or just the ministers, as you say) is "not getting sufficient scrutiny". ;)

If they were in a true democracy, many would have been tossed out.
Democracy means government/rule by "the people", which usually means the majority of the eligible voters, especially if it's a:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermajority
and it is a fact that the supermajority of Sinkie adults are ruling Singapore by mandating the PAP to represent and rule over all Sinkies. ;)

So the problem is not that Singapore is not a true democracy, but that the vast majority of Sinkie adults are ruling/"ruling" Singapore by ironically submitting to the rule of the PAP. :*:

Another big problem, which I've mentioned several times before, is that the vast majority of opposition voters are only "brave" enough to vote for any opposition party that bothers to contest the ward they are living in, but too cowardly and disunited to rebel by organizing some kind of massive street protest, which therefore indirectly and ironically strengthens the mandate of the PAP to rule over Singapore!

Until now, you still persist in that error of yours, even after I've pointed it out several times before:
sammyboy.com/showthread.php?236261-Collection-of-PAP-s-Misdeeds&p=2522912#post2522912
Couple of points:

1. That is not a suicide rate, but the total number of suicides (possibly also including foreigners). ;)
According to the "Samaritans of Singapore":
sos.org.sg/images/facts-figures/Nationalstats.pdf
the total number of suicides in 1995 was 401, not 271.
Therefore, the increase was only about 16%, even though the total population (including foreigners) increased by over 40%. ;)

2. Even if all 467 suicides in 2012 were committed by Sinkie citizens; the citizen population was slightly over 3 million, let's say 3.2 million; so the suicide rate was actually 467 / 3.2 million x 100,000 = about 15 suicides per 100,000 citizens in 2012.
Which means that the suicide rate in 2012 was at most only slightly higher than, or even nearly the same as, the rate in 1995. ;)
