Among the earlier batches of PRC students in UK, many of them made a point of applying for as many credit cards as they could and then maxing out all their cards right before leaving UK for good. The later batches all had trouble getting credit cards from British banks.
The somewhat surprising thing is that they do not think of it as something shameful. In fact they bragged about their exploits of the credit card system as a triumph of Chinese resourcefulness over Western gullibility.
