I came across this article in 15/1/14 Zaobao paper:
PR-150114-zaobao.jpg

This PR Li Yue kicks up a big fuss over a random police check.

He keeps on mentioning that he’s a PR for 14 years, therefore he has legitimate status & the police got no right to check him. The police was doing their job to keep our streets safe. So what if he’s a PR for 14 years?! As far as I know, even true blue Singaporeans are being checked, body searched or even brought to police station for questioning!

This PR even claims that he has nightmares after this body search incident… My advice to him is to get out of my country for good!! PR only, still want to be exempted from police random check. He thinks he’s above the law, is it?!

Editor’s note: Translation of the above underlined text -

  • “Do the police have sufficient reasons or legality to randomly search the bodies of legal residents? Because at the time, I clearly indicated that I’m a nearby resident. I even showed my PR blue I/C.”
  • “Also, I have a scholarly look. Why was my I/C checked and my body searched?”
  • The writer apparently went back home and called the police to complain. The police then explained the situation to him. He said, “I’m not satisfied with his (police) explanation. At midnight, I was not able to sleep.”
  • “I have lived in Singapore for 17 years. I have been a PR for 14 years. I’ve always obeyed the law.”

It's okay. There should be spot checks, especially in high-crime areas.

It is also good that the newspaper published this - it will force the police to give a proper reply rather than sweep it under the carpet.

Fuck off back to PRC , there the gong an will just cuff u, shoot u n ur nok just pay 40cents for the bullets.

长得像读书人又怎么样? 你始终还是条支那狗!

14 years of PR and he still clussless about our local law? And obviously he looks like a thug, if not why would our mata wanted to do a search on him?

14 years and unwilling to convert to citizenship.

why does the complainant sound like he has something to hide?

if you have nothing to hide, then why get upset over a police search?

His accent was a deadgiveaway...fortunately he is not in USA...they would have given him the standard search ( like the Indian Diplomat woman) & they think he is an illegal...

The only time a PRC FT should be making noise is when she is a chiobu lying on a bed. :p

Pua cb ah tiong is right..police should not search him... police should fucking anal probe him deep deep.

No la.. Our poodles giving FTs a body massage. No happy ending so FT complain.
