A 51 year old PRC female beggar reportedly earns $100 per hour begging outside the Kuan Yin Temple at Waterloo Street!

According to media reports, this PRC beggar claimed that she needs money urgently to pay medical bills for her dying daughter who had Leukemia.

It is strange that being a beggar, she can afford to pay for the airfare from China to Singapore.

An observer noted that within half an hour, about twenty people gave her notes ranging from $2 to $5. Going by the ‘business’ she was getting, she could easily earn more than $100 in one hour.

It is illegal to beg for money in public. Passer-bys can contact MCYS hotline at 1800-47895379 to lodge a report if they found beggars like this PRC woman begging in the streets.
