<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A CHINESE national was hauled to court on Friday for corruptly offering an unspecified bribe to induce a resident engineer to show leniency in his inspection. Ma Bao Yu, 42, a construction company employee deployed to a Choa Chu Kang housing project, allegedly made the offer to Mr Chia Chun Sian in August last year. Mr Chia is the project consultant for the HDB building project. Ma, who intends to engage a lawyer, will be back in court on Friday. If found guilty, he can be fined up to $100,000 and/or jailed for up to five years.
