hk has a sizable "undeveloped" area in the new territories to exploit if they wish to increase their population from 7m to 10m. currently, it's extremely uneven distribution with densities in kowloon and hk island reaching insane levels.
sg is better planned with hdb townships distributed evenly across the island except for tracts of land in the bukit timah reserve, mandai and keppel harbor. if hk is as well planned and densities as well distributed like in sg, she can house over 10m, rivalling shanghai and tokyo. i surveyed the new territories in hk 3 times over a period of a decade for sites and land use, and i know what i am talking about. it's politics and sheniganery that prevents effective use of the land. also, hk has several islands that can be developed into residential enclaves, but access to those islands is lacking except for the lantau islands where the clk airport is now.
it's about time sg eliminates the mandai reserve as an saf training ground and hands that big plot for development. the reservoirs can remain, and housing around them in mandai would be excellent with the "view" factor. it would also open up more "lakes" for suiciders to jump in, instead of taking a number and queueing up at bedok reservoir. :p

keppel harbor should also be told to fuck off to tuas, and i think that is happening. the only bastion that may remain for monkeys, mongeese, tapirs, snakes and the rare jungle sloth is the bukit timah reserve. and chasing away the cunts in caldecott hill, the tv broadcasting station, and bradell brothelites may be the next best thing. it is necessary to preserve some wild forest and greenery in sg. hairy bushy twats of the prostitute press don't apply. :p
all in all, there's room for growth. bunk beds should sell well. tents will too because there's no rent, little capital cost, and they can be put up quickly when the need to relieve arises. :p
