Hyo-yeon

Hyo-yeon of manufactured band Girls' Generation has been questioned by police on charges of hitting a male friend. The man who reported the incident to police, however, changed his mind during questioning and said she did not intentionally strike him.

Yongsan police on Tuesday said Hyo-yeon was visiting the 35-year-old man at his home around midnight when they got into an argument. Hyo-yeon pretended to attempt to jump out of the second floor of the home, prompting the man to stop her. During the scuffle she hit the man in the face.

The angered friend called police, who interviewed both of them. A police spokesman said, "We received a report and questioned the two, but it looks like no charges will be filed since the man says he was not assaulted intentionally."

A spokesman for SM Entertainment, which manages Girls' Generation, said the incident was due to a "misunderstanding" while the two were having fun. It did not comment on whether the two were a couple.
