Isn't that the Pattaya incident? Anyway, when the German army reached just outside Moscow, Joseph Stalin ordered the evacuation of all civilians. He himself, essential government officials and the army stayed behind to fight. It's open secret that if Singapore faces the risk of invasion, the President, PM, Cabinet and essential officials shall be evacuated to Brunei, the SAF, Police, SCDF and the people stay behind to fight. That's "total defence," defending them totally at your own risk. You die, your business. You win, they come back and claim credit.
