Anyone who recall some serious gaffes by our citizens. Here are some ;

1) Singapore a fishing village that was developed by PAP and old man by a forummer who has since disappeared.

2) Old man is like Mandela by an alumnus of London School of Economics and YPAP member

3) Tan Kin Lian - Independent by our very own GMS.

Not here long enough to recall. BUT in light of the not-so-recent spate of corpses discovered in reservoirs all around the island (and God only knows if there will be more to come), I wonder if the theme for next year's NDP could be: "The Singapore Story: From Third-World Fishing Village to First-World Necropolis". :D

Guess who said this:

4. "Who define whats good or bad law? The majority. Thats democracy. Go ahead and talk and bear arms to revolt. Cannot win by vote mean didnt win democracy support."

4) The left wing movement are dangerous terrorists and have no impact on independence.

Singapore should never be a welfare state because it encourages people not to work and cheat on welfare. It is doomed to fail.

The person who utter this survived a stroke some years ago. Not sure how his young family coping.

(a) Being MP does not need to take care of the ward.

(b) Only chinese educated will understand my satire.

(c) It was my photo of grace fu that led to all the attacks on me.

(d) Abandon manufacturing and move to services (said by a different person)

(e) $50 billion is peanuts (after scolding VB for spending $300 million on YOG)

(f) establish free universal health care in SG (said also by diff person)

The former conjured vivid images of engineers joining the vibrant F&B sector as waiter staff, while the later suggested creating 5% GDP with 10% of GDP. Good to know I am not the only pessimist in the forum.

He was more credible in the PE without mentioning the whatchamacallit plan. I hope he received campaign contributions for all the trouble.

I voted for him in the PE, by the way.

But yes, tell that to families who have earned their bread and butter in the manufacturing line.

Actually to be very fair, the biggest baddest gaffes are:

(f) I voted for PAP (said by an opposition MP long time ago)

(g) You never voted us, that's why GST went up (said by Ramseth in the old forum)

(h) Govt must continue to nurture MNCs (said by his royal highness desmond lim)

(i) "This is democracy at work" (said by his royal highness desmond lim after 30 RP members quit)

(j) Lily Neo would be a good MCYS minister (an opposition candidate who praised his opponent)

"Most of the time, I saw unhappy people, toiling in the field, worried about the next harvest and whether there would be buyers for their products ..." - 1 arrogant, ill-bred, insecure burger ...
