SINGAPORE: Police said they have received information that there may be foreign nationals campaigning in Singapore for the Indonesian elections.
They said foreign nationals have to abide by Singapore's laws, and should not import issues from their own countries into Singapore which can disturb public order, as there can be groups with opposing views.
Police said this is a long-standing principle which has helped maintain harmony and public order in Singapore, as well as good relations with other countries.
They added the authorities will act firmly.
Those who break the law will face action, which could include termination of their visa or work passes. - CNA/gn
