Renga and team, a bunch of Singaporean Indian drummers are stopped by plainclothes policemen from playing for the kavadi carriers of Thaipusam 2011. Those around Renga and team comment that they would not stop a lion dance and that next time Renga should do the lion dance for Thaipusam. Drummers continue despite initial warning from police.

My office is in the tank road area and i had to travelled thru little india to get to and from the office. Thaipusam was really a hassle. They barricaded the whole stretch of road and there was a big crowd and terrible traffic jams. What i dun understand is why they cannot declare this as a public holiday (last time it was) and then all these problems will be solved.

All public holidays are a hassle especially Chinese New Year. Can't go out to eat because many restaurants are closed :(

Old Spore was about tolerating these hassles. Maybe it was all about being a tolerant country?

I'm surprise the PAP have started picking & choosing the holidays they want. Thaipusam is an easy target but what is the next holiday to go?

Malaysia declare Thaipusam a public holiday. Sinkieland is so selfish and 3rd world.

It used to be a public holiday not sure why or when it was cancelled.
Singapore is one of the countries with the least number of holidays.
