Life jackets are not foolproof. People have drowned because the jackets slipped off or because they panicked when they fell into the water.

There are also many cases where people have drowned because they fell into deep water by accident.. eg hit by a wave or fell off a pier. You don't put on life jacket when you're taking a stroll by the lake.

Swimming is a basic life skill that everyone should learn the earlier the better.

The family should be thankful that they found the bodies in one piece..

If this happened in a lake or river in Australia, the authorities would have to go on a massive hunt to shoot dead some crocs and open up their bellies to retrieve the mangled corpses..

The guy's only 34 years old and holds a pilot's license so he can't have poor eyesight or poor reflexes.

please dont scold cyclists. They make for excellent road humps. We can save money. People who are stupid enough to cycle on our roads need to be removed from the genepool
