SINGAPORE - The Singapore Police Force is looking for a man suspected to be involved in outrage of modesty cases against young female victims.

He is described to be a male Malay in his 40s to 50s and approximately 1.6 to 1.7m tall. He has black, curly hair and a lump on the back of his neck.

The suspect is of dark complexion and plump build. He also has pimple scars on his face.

Anyone with information can call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Tips to prevent outrage of modesty

The police also released tips to prevent outrage of modesty cases. They are:

- Always be alert and attentive to the surroundings. If you suspect that you are being followed, remain calm and proceed to the nearest crowded area or call the Police to seek help.

- Carry a shrill alarm to call for help in times of emergencies.

- Do not enter a lift with a stranger. Let the stranger take the lift and wait for the next one.

- If alone in the lift, stand near to the lift buttons, Press "Door Open" and exit if a stranger rushes in as the door is closing.
 
SINGAPORE - A 52-year-old man was arrested today in relation to several Outrage of Modesty cases involving young girls.

On April 26 the police requested for information through the media to assist with the investigation.

The following day at about 4:50pm two police officers arrested the suspect at Sengkang Community Hub.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was possibly involved with at least five outrage of modesty cases involving girls between the ages of 7 to 11.

The suspect will be charged in court on April 29 and if he is found guilty he could receive a gail term of up to 5 years, or with fine, or with caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
