KUALA LUMPUR - The official car of the Selangor police chief was stolen in broad daylight outside a restaurant in Shah Alam yesterday.
It is learnt that, in the 9am incident, the Proton Perdana V6 was stolen when it was parked at an open-air car park along Persiaran Tengku Ampuan Zabedah near the Cili Merah restaurant in Section 9.
During the incident, Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar was not in the country and was in Singapore for an official function.

A corporal, who is the official driver for Khalid, had gone to the restaurant to have breakfast after running some errands.
The corporal was surprised to find the car missing when he came out of the restaurant after his breakfast.
He alerted the Shah Alam police headquarters in Section 11 nearby.
Police then called the Shah Alam City Council to check if the car had been towed to their depot for illegal parking but officials informed police that the car in question was not there.
State-wide roadblocks were then mounted since morning to recover the car but at press time it was still missing.
It is learnt that no firearms were stored in the car, but it is still unclear if there were any sensitive or classified documents that had gone missing together with the car.
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Azam Jamaludin confirmed the incident, but declined to comment.
i think he must have stepped on someone's tail and they are out to make him look like a fool. just imagine, this is his official's car,the license plate should be a bit difference from the rest.
