Police arrest suspect behind several cases of arson in Punggol

The police have arrested a 33-year-old man believed to be behind at least ten cases of arson in Punggol Drive.
In November last year, a spate of arson cases were committed at Block 305D Punggol Drive. The suspect would set fire to newspapers and unwanted papers before throwing them down the central rubbish chute.
He was arrested on Monday in Punggol Drive after extensive investigations
Investigations against the suspect are ongoing. If convicted of mischief by fire, he faces a maximum jail term of seven years and a fine.
